Kazuki Isogai Signature Model
[-New specifications accompanying renewal-]
Puretone jack: All models feature the renowned Puretone jack, known for its secure grip and low noise. Unlike conventional jacks, this jack features two hot and two cold terminals, firmly holding the plug from both sides. Even with extended use, it won’t loosen, providing stable performance that supports your performance.
How to distinguish from previous models Previous Momose models only had the words MADE IN JAPAN written on them, but the renewed models from 2026 onwards feature a new design that includes the Aska Quality logo.
Kazuki Isogai Momose Modern Virtuoso Series
As the name suggests, Momose Custom Craft Guitars’ flagship line aims to develop guitars for “modern master players,” and is built with specifications that pursue functionality and high-grade components. The MJS-MV Kazuki Isogai was developed as part of the top-of-the-line Modern Virtuoso Series to embody the various preferences of Kazuki Isogai.
Tochi 2P Body
After trying out many JM models, including vintage ones, Kazuki Isogai concluded that the Momose Tochigi body offered the most practical sound. Even before developing his signature model, he had been using the Momose Tochigi-bodied MJM model for numerous recordings and live performances. Having received the thumbs-up from engineers and fellow artists, he decided to use Tochigi wood for the body of his signature model to further refine the tone.
Tochigi wood has a moderate weight and a relatively soft texture, and the sound is characterized by a moderately solid tone with a bright and clear midrange. The distortion is also good, and the sound resonates from a slightly lower center of gravity, making it suitable for a variety of genres, including rock and pop.
Wange Fingerboard & Luminlay Side dot
The fingerboard is made of wenge, a beautiful wood with a dark brown grain and black stripes. Its excellent hardness and strength produce a fast, tight sound with a fast attack. Combined with the Jescar Evolution Gold frets, which have a subtle gold hue, this contributes to a crisp tone and allows the player’s nuances to be accurately expressed.
The slightly flatter fingerboard with a 280 radius reduces choking when bending on the higher frets, allowing for long tones to resonate comfortably.
The side dots are made of Luminlay, a luminous material. This is a feature that is highly popular among guitarists who perform on stage, as the lighting is often dimmed during live performances.
Mojotone Clone ’59 pickup
The pickups are hand-wired Mojotone pickups manufactured in North Carolina, USA. They also handle OEM orders for over 250 brands, and are highly acclaimed for their distinctive vintage feel.
The Clone ’59 pickup was created by testing numerous vintage Jazz Master pickups and selecting the one with the most remarkable sound. The pickup was disassembled and carefully studied, including the coil winding and tension, to recreate its captivating tone. The reverse-wound, reverse-polarity design provides hum-cancelling effects that reduce noise when mixing.
Neck Plate
The neck is joined with an original laser-engraved neck plate featuring Isogai’s icon and signature. While a traditional plate joint is used to preserve the traditional sound characteristics, the plate is recessed, eliminating the need for hands to get caught on the plate, even when playing in high positions near the joint, improving playability.
