Our latest arrival is a 1997 Blackhawk model. The Blackhawk was developed during the Kramer Guitars era and is known for being used by many popular guitarists of the time. 1997 was the latter half of the SSD (Stuart Spector Design) era, and this guitar was produced in the Woodstock, New York workshop. A note detailing the order can be found inside the rear pickup cavity.
The unique double-cutaway body features a gorgeous two-piece quilted maple top and mahogany back. The neck is made of maple with a bolt-on joint, and the fingerboard is made of rosewood. There is some weather checking, dents, and signs of use, but the guitar is in good condition. The back panel is missing.
The frets are currently 2.8mm wide jumbo frets, showing little wear and providing excellent playability. The nut width is 42.9mm, and the neck profile is fairly thin. The Wilkinson VSVG bridge is original, but has since been replaced with the same Wilkinson by GOTOH model.
The overall weight is approximately 3.9 kg. The pickups are a combination of EMG 85 and 81. Its simple design, lacking a tone control, allows it to produce the hard rock sound you’d expect.
