In ’61 the Les PaulTM model was put on hold and a totally fresh design sprang forth, now known as the SGTM or “solid guitar”. The Gibson SG Standard ’61looks like the original, with an elegant SlimTaperTM mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. The mahogany body offers deep body scarves, a 5-ply teardrop pickguard and a 22nd-fret neck joint. Adding the final touch are nickel-plated hardware parts like a classic-style Tune-O-MaticTM bridge and Keystone tuners. Plus, the pickups are 60s BurstbuckerTM humbuckersTM that combine classic sound, extra power and lots of punch. The electronics include audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors.
A hardshell case is also included.
