The slim, rounded hard maple neck and fingerboard are combined in a simple bolt-on structure, but the slightly deep cutaway and gently arched top surface assert that this is a simple and functional instrument unique to the S-Series.

The stiffness of the 1st string side, which is prone to warping and twisting due to the long tension from the nut to the tuning peg, is eliminated by increasing the thickness of the 1st string side up to the center of the headstock logo. The headstock flex caused by the string tension at the headstock is also uniform for each string, improving balance of headstock resonance. Furthermore, the combination of an original 5mm thick neck joint plate, which reduces variations in tightening torque, and anchors for the joint screws embedded in the neck ensure lossless vibration transmission and long-lasting reliability.
